Quad biking, done differently
A quad is four wheels, handlebars, a throttle and a brake. No clutch, no gears: within ten minutes you forget about the machine and only look at the landscape. That's exactly what makes it accessible to everyone, including people who have never driven anything but a car.
What makes Sidi Kaouki special is the terrain. In a single ride you go from the soft sand of the dunes to the firm, packed sand of the beach at low tide, the red dirt tracks of the backcountry and the rocky trails along the cliffs. Every surface rides differently, and that's what keeps the ride exciting from start to finish.
Our rides are always in small groups, behind a guide who leads the way and sets the pace. We stop to catch our breath, for photos, sometimes for tea. It's not a race: it's a way to see the Essaouira coast where no road goes.

Sidi Kaouki, Essaouira's wild coast
Twenty-five kilometres south of Essaouira, Sidi Kaouki is still what the Moroccan coast was before the big resorts: a fishing village, a white marabout facing the waves, a beach several kilometres long swept by the trade winds and, behind it, a ridge of dunes stretching as far as the eye can see.
That contrast is everything: a few minutes on a quad take you from the water's edge to a truly desert landscape, then into the argan forest where goats climb the branches. Further north, Cap Sim lines up ochre cliffs, deserted coves and a cave you can reach at low tide.
Over three hundred days of sunshine a year, a breeze that tempers the heat even in summer, and hardly anyone on the tracks: conditions are right almost all year round.

Quad biking: frequently asked questions
Do I need a driving licence?
No, no licence is needed: a car driving licence is not required to ride our quads. A briefing and supervised practice before setting off are all it takes. Minors can take part as passengers, accompanied by an adult.
I've never ridden a quad — is that a problem?
Not at all, that's the case for most of our customers. Our quads are automatic: no clutch, no gears. A throttle, a brake, and supervised practice on flat ground before we set off.
What should I wear?
Clothes that cover your arms and legs, and closed shoes, even in summer: sand and wind sting. Bring a windbreaker for late-afternoon rides, plus sunscreen and water. Helmet and goggles are provided.
What's the best time of day?
Early morning for the light and the cool air, or late afternoon to ride during the sunset — that's the most popular slot, so book ahead.
How do I book and pay?
By phone, WhatsApp or email. No deposit is required: you pay on site, in cash (euros or dirhams) or by card. Prices shown are per quad.
Can you pick us up in Essaouira?
Sidi Kaouki is 25 km from Essaouira, about a 30-minute drive. We can arrange a return transfer on request — just mention it when you book.
What if the weather's bad?
The region enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year. If conditions are genuinely unfavourable, the ride is rescheduled or cancelled free of charge.
