About us
Atlantic Quad Kaouki is a handful of Sidi Kaouki locals who turned their childhood playground into a job.
Our story
It all started in 2016 with two second-hand quads, a tin shed at the end of the village and one conviction: visitors who came to surf in Sidi Kaouki were leaving without seeing a tenth of the region. The first rides were almost just for fun, with neighbours from the campsite.
Word of mouth did the rest. A second guide, an on-site mechanic, a fleet renewed one quad at a time. Today we're a small team with thirteen automatic quads, and every year we take out several thousand visitors from all over Europe.
What hasn't changed is the way we do things. We're still a village business: we welcome you with tea, we take the time to explain, and the guide who takes you out is the same one who scouted the track the day before. You're not a booking number.
The team
Two guides and a mechanic, all from the area, whom you'll meet from the first phone call to the tea after your ride.
Reception, bookings & guide
He's the one you'll speak to on the phone and the one who'll welcome you when you arrive. He organises departures, adjusts times to the tides, gets you kitted out — and he's often the one leading the way in front of you.
Tour guide
The dune specialist. He finds the best lines depending on the wind and the tide, and he'll get you down your first big descent without a wobble.
Mechanic
Every quad goes through his hands before and after every ride. Fluids, tyres, brakes, filters: nothing goes out on the track without his green light.
Our commitments
We'd rather turn bookings down than head out with thirty quads. One guide for a small group is the only way to keep proper supervision and to stop when the light is beautiful.
Guides, mechanic, reception, tea, full-day lunches: everything comes from Sidi Kaouki and the neighbouring hamlets. The business supports around ten local families.
We ride on established tracks, away from nesting areas and crops. The dunes are our workplace: damaging them would make no sense.
Checks before and after every ride, a full service every fifty hours, helmets replaced regularly. A machine breaking down in the middle of the dunes is not an option.
Getting here
Our base is in Sidi Kaouki, at the entrance to the village on the beach side, about thirty minutes from Essaouira.
